yo! I am Kočāns Miķelis, I create all kinds of music for all kinds of ears.people often ask me - what type of music do you make? this always puzzles me. it expects artists to create borders for their craft. one day I got so fed up with this, I decided to create my own genre!
I called it the neo-schlager. this genre is for those who don't fear change and surprise. it is a hearty fusion of pop, jazz and rock with light-hearted lyrics about topics of varying gravity.
performance is nothing without live sound. so I play shows with my 5-piece band filled with improv and other surprises - as befits the neo-schlager.
